Projetos em andamento
These are my new projects on progress. My first sterling silver ring is nearly ready! (first photo). I saw, filed, soldered and formed. Now I have to do the finishing adjustments. Maybe I will add a little freshwater pearl in the middle, what do you think? The other photos are a few studies for pendants and another ring, using sterling, brass and copper. I like the contrast between the different metals.
And the good news: only two saw blades broken so far!!!

Carol-lynn Swol
I saw the fantastic works of Carol-lynn Swol through the Daily Art Muse blog written by Susan Lomuto and was immediately in love with them. She uses Tyvek to make her jewels and in her own words she says:
" In creating jewelry, material and the passion for material manipulation help drive my creative process. This passion led me to begin creating pieces with Tyvek, a plastic product that feels as delicate as paper, but is far more durable. It is in the duality of this material that I yearn to find a sophisticated balance between durability and ephemeral seeming and between intentionality and spontaneity in design and form. In this collection of work I have dyed, burned, tufted and stacked the Tyvek to create various forms, colors, and texture".

Novos Projetos 2
Ontem tive minha primeira aula! Amei!
New Projects 2
Atelier Mourão was created 30 years ago by Caio Mourão, one of the best known Brazilian jewelers. Paula Mourão, a "carioca" (Rio native) jeweler and Caio Mourão's daughter, is today, after his death on 2005, the director and sole responsible for the courses of the atelier.
This is where I will be spending my Wednesday mornings, learning jewelry techniques and developing my new projects. My first class was yesterday! Loved it!

Novos Projetos!
My dining table is covered with papers again! Cut papers, painted papers, white papers, papers of all kinds! An old project begins to take shape, I am so excited! Since the beginning I wanted to use my paintings on paper in my jewels but only now it seems that I found the way to do it - I hope it works out!
Since I started painting my monotypes, I have been keeping some used papers which I thought were worthed doing but I didn't know what to do with them. I nearly threw them all out in the garbage - I am glad I didn't!
I will keep you posted!
